Preserving Our Places in History in the Classroom

The WeGOJA Foundation developed webinars for K-12 educators to assist them in integrating African American history and culture in the classroom. While those sessions have ended, educators can find the recordings here. The program offers strategies, content, resources and activities to help teachers discuss challenging and difficult historical topics to students of all ages and backgrounds. Through modeling, instructors demonstrated how to apply these concepts in a typical classroom setting.

The goal is to ensure that future generations are well-versed in the complete history of South Carolina so that diversity, inclusion and social justice are integrated in everyday life.
